Today's topic is: My Favorite Food
I LOVE seafood. From pastas and paellas, to chowders and curries - prawns, crab, clams, mussels, etc. Absolutely love them.
A lobster mac and cheese is one of my favourites. A simple seafood linguine is amazing. Salmon stirfry with noodles. Fish pie. Even fish and chips, or fish fingers make me happy!

And now I'm hungry!

Today's topic is Something I'm Proud of Doing which has been harder to think of than I realised.
I'm proud of being a mum to our amazing children and being married to James - of how much I love them and look after them to the best of my abilities.

I'm proud of us all surviving the last few years - there have been so many challenges to overcome, so many lessons to learn, and there has been a global pandemic, but we've got through all of it with our health and sanity intact. And with each other.

I'm proud of myself for saying yes to things that excite me, but also for being able to say no to things that don't or that I don't agree with.

Today's topic is: New Things I've Tried Recently
The main new thing I've tried recently is starting this blog and I'm really enjoying it. I haven't yet had the confidence to comment on anyone else's posts but I do feel like I'm starting to find my voice and I'm enjoying the prompts I've written about so far.

I'd like to start having regular date nights with James again, we haven't been on a date since Kit was born last August. Both our parents keep offering to babysit and I think I'm ready to start to accept. The thought of leaving them is hard but I know it will be good for us

Today's topic is What I think of New Year's Resolutions
I mentioned last week that I love them - I love setting goals and the focus having an aim gives me. I love the 'newness' of a new year, there's such a feeling of excitement and the potential that anything could happen. It's a new year and I have control over it how it's going to go. I also love new months and, to an extent, Mondays for that same sense of a clean slate and a new start.

And can we talk about the dopamine hit? How amazing a sense of accomplishment can make us feel?
Resolutions are the same way. Vowing to make improvements to your life and hitting those milestones is such a great feeling and encourages you to keep going. No matter what it is, nothing feels better than proving to yourself you can do anything you put your mind to

Today’s topic is My goals for 2023. I love this time of year, I love making goals, even if I don't always meet them! But I love the whole 'new' feeling of this week, the potential and the excitement that I can make anything happen.

Read 25 books
I've set this as my goal on goodreads and storygraph, and it seems really doable. I have no idea how much I'm going to be able to read, so 2 books a month seems like a good aim.

Make time for hobbies everyday
Even if its half an hour in the afternoon while the girls are napping, or in the evening after all the kids are asleep. Time purposely spent doing the things I love is Good For Me!

Move Kit into her own room
She will be 6 months old at the end of February, and she's sleeping a good 8 or 9 hours a night so it's time for her to move her into her own bedroom. We sort of forgot to finish painting it first though so that will be James' first DIY job of the year!

Those are the main three right now but I may end up adding to it over the coming days/weeks
